In my studio
I am a Eugene-based designer and artist, most inspired by my deep connection with the natural world and my time spent in meditation.
My process is multilayered and my work often begins as a sketch or loose study, sometimes just a feeling. My art is inspired by my deep love of the natural world.
My collection of cyanotype botanical prints on silk scarves are available for purchase at the Museum of Natural and Cultural History - University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon. A portion of the proceeds from each sale supports the museum.
Recently, I taught myself how to sew and I’ve been in love ever since. I found a way to combine this new art medium with my passion for repurposing. By reclaiming cotton, wool, and cashmere from thrift stores, garage sales, and friends’ closets, I give discarded textiles new life—keeping fast fashion and used fabric out of the landfill. From neck warmers (available at Gear Traders) and lap blankets to bags that hold everything and bags that hold just enough, every piece is made with love and upcycled fabric. Bags are my favorite to make—because let’s be honest, you can never have too many bags. Find my bags at Maude Kerns Art Center.
I’ve always expressed myself graphically, but my formal artistic training began at the University of Oregon School of Design where I earned a degree in Landscape Architecture. I worked in the design field in Oregon for about 30 years, chiefly as a graphic designer, in both the public and private sectors, before leaving the workplace to focus on my art.
I’m currently a contributing artist with Jackleg Press and Maude Kerns Art Center, and honored to be a participating artist in the Lane Arts Council First Friday ArtWalk in 2023.
As an advocate for wellness, social justice and peace, I want my artwork to make a difference in our world. 50% of all custom fabric art will go to Community Supported Shelters, who help the unhoused rebuild their lives.
